Test Collection Process ‘How To’ Video

Collection Process For The Surface Test For Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2)

Remove the swab from the packaging. Using one side, slide the swab in a vertical upright position. Flip the swab over and slide it in a horizontal position. You should use the swab on high-traffic or high-touch hard surfaces. These include door handles, keypads, Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals, and cash registers. Desks, tables, computers, and phones should also be tested.
Once you have collected the specimen, place it inside the sterile packet provided. Make sure the swab does not touch any other surface. Use only the sample holders provided in the Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) test kit.
Label the sample holder as well as the corresponding paperwork. The designated plastic bag should have a pouch outside where you can put the form. Do not put it inside together with the specimen. Clean the plastic bag with alcohol wipes to minimize contamination. Place the bag in the larger zip lock bag.
Mail samples to us. Our labs will test and process the swabs. We will send the results online, either via email or uploaded to our portal. The turnaround time is 24 hours.

Are You Ready To Use Our Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) Test For Surfaces?

Our Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) test kit can detect the presence of the virus that causes COVID-19. Before you get started, here is some helpful information to guide you.

Our SARS-CoV-2 kit uses molecular testing using the PCR (polymerase chain reaction) method. The goal is to detect the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in high-touch surface areas. Molecular testing has a higher efficiency rate with fewer false positives because it tests specifically for SARS-CoV-2.

Do you know long the virus can live on surfaces?  Learn more HERE.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), PPE gear can vary depending on how it is going to be used and who is going to wear it. It can include gloves, medical masks, eye protection, gowns, aprons, and boots or closed-toe shoes.
